Arrival Day (recommended)
Participants are asked to arrive one day before the retreat begins, as the first session starts on the morning of Day 1.
Arrival on Paros and check-in to accommodation. The day is free, allowing time to rest, settle in, and arrive without rush.
Day 1 - Parikia
We meet at Sunset Pounda Studios at 10:30 am and depart for our first visual journaling walk at Parikia, the main town on Paros.
We will walk and paint through the lanes in the old part of the town, visit the architectural masterpiece of the church of Ekatondapiliani, and then enjoy a coffee at a seaside cafe, translating our impressions into sketchbook work.
Return to the studios between 4:30 and 5:00 pm. Evening free.
Day 2 - Antiparos Town
A day trip by ferry to Antiparos. The day will include wandering through the village lanes and the ancient Castle, painting/journaling, swimming in crystal clear waters just a few minutes walk from the village, and enjoying a coffee at a traditional coffee shop.
Late afternoon return to Paros. Evening free.
Day 3 - Southern Antiparos
We will take the Ferry for the short crossing to Antiparos and then go by car to paint the lunar landscapes of Faneromeni at the southern end of the island. We will have time to swim and have lunch (optional) at a traditional taverna overlooking the sea.
Afternoon return to the studios. Evening free.
Day 4 - Lefkes mountain village.
We will visit the 15th-century village with the oldest windmills in the Cyclades. We can paint the quaint houses in the Byzantine lanes, have coffee and snacks at a cafe in the village square, and then descend to sea level for a swim.
Return to the studios in the afternoon. Evening free.
Day 5 - Cosmopolitan Naousa
We will visit the 14th-century sleepy fishing village that has become a cosmopolitan jewel. We will walk and paint the old lanes and the remains of the Venetian castle in the old harbor. After a coffee break, we will, depending on weather conditions, choose one of the surrounding beautiful beaches for swimming, painting, and relaxing.
Return to the studios in the afternoon. Evening free.
Day 6 - Aliki Village, Dinner at barefeetparos Art Studio.
We will visit the old fishing village of Aliki, have coffee and paint at a cafe overlooking the marina and the fishing boats, and then swim at one of the three main sandy beaches. We will return, and in the evening we will gather at our art studio for a farewell dinner by the swimming pool, watching the sunset over the Aegean and the island of Antiparos
Day 7 - Departures
After breakfast, our art workshop comes to a close. No group events are scheduled for this day. We will drive you to the airport or Ferry Port and say goodbye until the next time. You may depart at your leisure. The Sunset Pounda Studios will hold your luggage if you plan to leave after checkout time. It is, of course, possible to extend your vacation time in Paros; just let us know as soon as possible.
